California Truck Jamboree is one of the few shows in the California scene that caters solely to trucks; the only cars seen are those chosen for vendor booths. In doing so it garners a wide range of enthusiasts from mini-truckers, ballers, off-roaders and hot rod guys. A close hill fire plagued the last Truck Jam, luckily no such incident occured this time around, unless you count a tire that caught fire during the burnout contest.

The fun however did not wait for Truck Jam as a Showtruckscene.com organized drag session was held the night before for those brave enough to drag within hours of a truck show. Members from Local Finesse, Acrophobia, Gravel Control, FFF and others dragged their trucks on the streets of Orange County. Even dragging within 2 feet of a cop did not stop the fun!

Events throughout the day included several hop offs with the KP Components/Slam Specialities truck pounding the pavement while catching the most insane air that it had a hard time staying upright. Several DJs including master of ceremonies Roulette kept the tunes flowing along side bands Valentine and Tommorrow's Bad Seeds. The burnout competition was a site to see, smell and hopefully not breath in! The first truck ran the radials on the wet pavement til a tire blew and even caught on fire. The next truck, entered the competition with fresh tread...and a working engine. After two runs, and more smoke plumming from under the tires than a tire factory itself; the engine died, and the water pump dumped its fluids all over the gravel.

With warm weather, the bikini contest was a sight to see with over a dozen contestants vying for the top prize to be crowned Miss Spring Truck Jam. Trophies dragged on a bit, no help from one of the judges blaring porno from his truck feet from the stage! But trophies were completed thanks to some of the girls from Local Finesse and hotridesmag.com. Top honors for the show went again to Robbie Azevado of Pacific Coast Customs with his Impression '48 Suburban. Nocturnal brought the most vehicles to the show as well as taking home several trophies for their trucks and suv's.

As one of the top truck shows, Truck Jam is a can't miss event...thankfully it is held twice a year as well as a newly added Afterdark Show (including cars) featuring a drag competition...Now where is Winter Truck Jam???
