Kustomz show is the hottest show of the year for Southern
California; not only climate wise but also content wise. Held
at the Rialto Airport towards the end of August; the show
thrown by Ludikrs Kustomz, Tailgate Magazine, Xtreme Lowz
and others brings in dozens of vendors, around 700 vehicles
and very few clothes due to the summer heat. What began as
a promotional show has turned into one of the biggest and
best in Southern California, so much so that it has outgrown
the location at an airport!
In preparation for the show, vendors and entrants stepped
their game up on their rides. Vendor GOEZ Customs worked ‘round
the clock to finish several vehicles; with no sleep the crew
turned up Sunday morning bringing with them the freshly finished
interior of the orange 300C, a large off road Ford turned
into a F-650 towering over the show, providing ample view
for the hot bikini contest later on that day. Of course, no
one could miss the head of the GOEZ Asphalt Assault Vehicles,
the 64 Datsun juiced and laid out on 20s and 22s in just a
few days. Also at the GOEZ booth was Jenny P selling signed
copies of the latest Tailgate magazine.
The bikini contest was a sight to see, with warm weather
and girls not only from show vendors but local strip clubs
as well. The other contest, featured cars and trucks hopping
to unbelievable heights. The king of the hop off being the
Daddy’s truck; which featured nitrogen bottles outside
of the truck allowing it to be lighter and hit harder. The
truck hit so hard that it did not pop bags as some other contestants
did but blew tires and bent rims. First timers witnessing
the truck booed and talked shit as the owners warmed up, however,
once the bottles were turned on full and the truck was ready...not
a single person did not cheer. Trucks that could not compete,
decided to put on a show of their own to the dismay of the
staff. One of the high points of this showoff was a tricked
out, body dropped OBS/NBS Silverado not afraid to three-wheel
straight into a burnout.
The intense heat and sun did not stop Ludikrs Kustomz from
throwing one of the must attend shows of the year.
